Find your account number or guarantor number

Your billing account number or guarantor number helps Silent Hill Healthcare locate the correct billing record for a visit, statement, payment plan, insurance claim, or balance inquiry. You may be asked for one of these numbers when contacting Patient Financial Services, making a payment, disputing a charge, requesting an itemized bill, or updating billing information.

Billing numbers may appear in your patient portal, on printed or electronic statements, on payment plan documents, or on correspondence from Brookhaven Hospital, Alchemilla Hospital, or Silent Hill Healthcare Patient Financial Services.

Note: Billing records may take longer to update after insurance processing, facility transfers, corrected claims, older statement conversions, lake fog advisories, or townwide siren events. If a recent account number does not appear right away, check again after the billing cycle closes.

Account number vs. guarantor number

Billing documents may use both account numbers and guarantor numbers. They are related, but they are not always the same.

Account number Identifies a specific billing account, visit, statement, charge group, payment plan, or facility billing record.
Guarantor number Identifies the person financially responsible for one or more patient billing accounts.
Patient ID Identifies the patient’s medical profile. This is different from a billing account or guarantor number.
Claim number May identify an insurance claim connected to a visit, procedure, emergency department record, or inpatient stay.
Tip: If Patient Financial Services asks for your guarantor number, use the number listed near the statement balance or responsible party information. If they ask for an account number, use the number tied to the specific visit or statement.

Where to find your numbers

You may find your account number or guarantor number in several places.

  • Patient portal billing dashboard
  • Current or past billing statements
  • Payment plan confirmation letters
  • Insurance claim correspondence
  • Itemized bill documents
  • Discharge billing paperwork
  • Alchemilla emergency department billing notices
  • Brookhaven inpatient or behavioral health billing notices
  • Silent Hill Healthcare Patient Financial Services letters
Note: Some older statements may use legacy account formatting from prior Alchemilla systems, archived Brookhaven billing files, or municipal health billing records.

Find your number in the patient portal

To find your billing account number or guarantor number in the portal:

  1. Sign in to your Silent Hill Healthcare patient portal:
  2. Go to Billing, Statements, or Patient Financial Services.
  3. Select the statement, visit, or balance you want to review.
  4. Look for Account Number, Billing Account, Guarantor Number, or Responsible Party.
  5. Use Download statement or View details if the number is not shown on the summary page.
Important: Do not share your account number, guarantor number, insurance information, or payment details with anyone who is not authorized to discuss your billing account.

Find your number on a billing statement

On most Silent Hill Healthcare statements, the account number or guarantor number appears near the top of the first page. It may also appear in the payment coupon or statement summary.

Look for labels such as:

  • Account Number
  • Billing Account Number
  • Guarantor Number
  • Guarantor ID
  • Responsible Party
  • Statement Number
  • Visit Account
Tip: If you are calling about a specific charge, have the statement date, visit date, facility name, and account number ready. This helps Patient Financial Services locate the correct billing record faster.

Why you may have more than one number

It is possible to have more than one billing account number or statement number. This can happen when care is provided by different facilities, departments, or billing systems.

Multiple numbers may appear when:

  • You received care at both Brookhaven Hospital and Alchemilla Hospital
  • An emergency visit became an inpatient stay
  • A surgical procedure, imaging study, or lab service was billed separately
  • A balance was moved to a payment plan
  • Insurance reprocessed a claim or issued a corrected explanation of benefits
  • Older Alchemilla billing records were converted from a prior system
  • Archived Brookhaven billing records were linked to your current profile
  • A dependent or minor patient is listed under your guarantor profile
Note: Having more than one account number does not always mean there is a duplicate account. It may simply mean that separate visits, departments, or billing systems generated separate billing records.

FAQ

I cannot find my account number
  • Check the full billing statement, not only the portal summary.
  • Look for labels such as Billing Account, Visit Account, or Statement Number.
  • Check whether the visit was billed under Brookhaven, Alchemilla, or a separate department.
  • Contact Patient Financial Services if the number does not appear.
I see multiple account numbers

Multiple account numbers may appear when separate visits, departments, facilities, claims, or payment plans are involved. Use the number connected to the specific statement or charge you are asking about.

My guarantor information looks wrong
  • Review the responsible party listed on the billing statement.
  • Check whether the account belongs to a dependent or minor patient.
  • Confirm whether a legal guardian, parent, or estate representative is listed.
  • Contact Patient Financial Services if the guarantor appears incorrect.
My recent visit does not show a billing number yet

Recent visits may not show a billing account number until charges are reviewed, insurance is billed, or the statement is generated. Emergency, inpatient, surgical, imaging, or behavioral health services may take longer to appear.

The billing page looks wrong or keeps refreshing
  • Refresh your browser.
  • Clear your browser cache.
  • Try a different browser or device.
  • Wait and try again if the town siren has recently sounded.
  • Avoid using public terminals located in restricted billing offices, closed wards, or archive areas.
